Computer Science conferences appear to have a different understanding of conferences and journals from e.g., physics, where conferences are for quick results and journal for established work. CS appears to focus on conferences, which have high quality demands etc, journals mostly being an archival after thought.
Prestige and perceived quality of journals, however, are higher than conferences. So CS conference require almost the efforts of journals, which being considered of lower quality.
EMSOFT aims to counter this with Journal Track Papers: Accepted full-length articles will be presented at the respective ESWEEK conferences and published in IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems (TCAD).
